Power Antenna

Hey Folks. I have a 98 4runner & my p antenna siezed up. I had a replacement antenna (generic) that I got from ebay (crap unit). Tried to put in, wouldn't fit, so went to wreckers & got 1 from a 96 4runner. Didn't work, took apart & plastic cable broken & shaft for 1 of the spindals inside was broken also. Took my original antenna apart & cleaned up electric motor , lubbed 'er up & low & behold it worked. Put new cable antenna shaft in put back onto runner & now when I turn radio on the antenna keeps running. Before I take apart again any suggestions or should I go back to a wreckers & put up another 1. Also what vehicle antennas are interchangeable with this item Thanx so much. AR

Try removing the mast and re-feed the plastic toothed section on the end back into the motor assy.
