Finally drove the new 4Runner V8 Limited!

This thing...as compared to my old Limited...is simply a BEAST.

And you think that Toyota can't recreate the powerful american gurgle sound...you wish...mash the throttle, and the engine's normal purring changes into a low and powerful growl.

Another feature I like...Mercedes shift gate feels really nice...rear height control, and true surround sound system. Steering response is excellent and cornering is extra smooth for a truck.

Only dislike...the transmission shifts at low rpms and shifts hard.

Otherwise...this I would have to say, is the ultimate 4Runner by far. I would rather take this than the Lexus LX470. When the last gen 4Runner first came out...it was the only SUV to have a sub 10 second 0-60 time. I believe that the current 4Runner...would be amoung the fastest of the mortals (the X5 4.4, the ML430 and other "player" 4WD wagons with a lift kit and low profile tires don't count).

The V8 4Runner is more sportier(lower) than the GX. The other difference is that the GX has an optional third row. I'd get the 4Runner over the GX too.

I went with my friend to test drive the neew 4 Runner and I couldn't put what TRD 4Runner in any better words.. Very comfortable ride and amazing handling.. He's still confused on whether he should get the 2003 4 Runner or a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

I'm now a firm believer in the DOHC 4.7L V8...

Pathfinder??? Don't joke around...it doesn't even look mean!

A RAV4 will tailgate your friend and he'd be intimidated by it...for sure...lol!

Were you able to test drive the V6 4Runner? I want to know how it compares to the V8.
