center wheel cap part verification question

Hi,

I have a 2004 4Runner 4WD 6cyl Limited.

My whee's center cap somehow fell off at some point. Dealer wants a fortune for it, but won't verify the part number 100%.

I was looking online at parts, but I see links to steel or aluminum wheels. This may be a dumb question, but I don't know if I have steel or aluminum wheels. How can I verify?

Does anyone know how I can verify the part number?

First let me say to Toyota Nation. Unfortunately I can't answer your question as to steel or aluminum.
What are the center caps made of that you have? Are they actually made of metal or plastic? I bought center caps for both my '06 and '09 Highlander Ltd and they were plastic. For the '09 they were $39.87 each. I'd try to find a dealer that may have them in stock and see if you can match the ones you have. They may also have been used on more recent model years. Sorry I could not be of more help.
