Oil filter recommendation

I'm about to begin doing my 1st own oil changes.

2004 4Runner Limited V-6, 52000miles.

What type of filter do you recommend? Good experiences with, bad experiences with? Thanks for any suggestions!!!

OEM, Wix, Napa Gold, Purolator PureOne, Mobil1, Amsoil and even the Wal-mart brand if you can believe that.

Get the factory filters from the dealer. They have a valve in them that won't let the oil drain back out of it when you shut the engine off.

Out here in Vancouver, WA, the last time I bought them from my dealer, IIRC they wer about $6.50 ea or 2 for $9 (or there abouts). Of course I bought 2.

Go to the dealer and get a factory filter, PLUS, get the oil drain plug gasket. They're actually cheaper than Kragen, Autozone, etc., at least where I live. Go online and check out your dealers website to see if there any parts specials that can save ya a few bux.
