Buzzing sound when using lighter and audio jack with Sirius radio

I have a 2006 4 Runner and I get this buzzing/hissing sound when I plug my Sirius radio in the lighter and use the audio jack in the armrest. The owner's manual says this may occur but it doesn't offer reasons why. I've received many different opinion from a bad ground to a faulty radio to an unavoidable alternator hiss. I even bought this hardwire kit to see if it would fix it, and it didn't. Does anybody else get that, and does anybody know how to fix it before I end up in the mental ward! Would wiring the kit directly to the battery fix it?

T-SB-0067-08 For buzzing noise heard when plugging something in power outlet and plugging something in aux port.
You will have to replace stereo adapter assy, and installing inline filter.

I don't know as mine was under warranty. I'm sure they will give you an estimate if you ask...

I have the same issue. I hard wired the power into the fuse box and still have the noise. I bought the inline filter to fix the problem but have yet to install it.

If you're out of warranty, the cheapest thing to do is buy a $15 in-line filter box, connect it to the aux port and then to your cord, then hide it in the console.
