It should be behind the glove box.

Cabin Air Filter Change

On my 2006 Sport Edition, I change out the filter about every 6 months. During Pollen season here in Tennessee, I might change it out more often than that.
Simply open your glove box and let it open all the way. With a phillips screwdriver, take off the screw that is attached to a shock like arm on the passenger side of the glovebox. This will allow the glovebox to drop out of the way. Now, in behind it next to the firewall is a white rectangle box. Mine has Denso on it. This is a tray that slides out and accepts a new filter. Unclip it, and slide it to you. Pop in a new filter. Reinstall tray, reattach screw with shock, and you're done.
Funny that you might find anything in it. I have even found leaves in it before. Good Luck, Ken

Since you change your cabin filter more often than most, you may want to consider Toyota's Premium Cabin filter. I have one Service advisor here that swears by them and all his customers just love it. It is $35.00 MSRP comparted to $20.00 for the non premium.

I don't know where you are getting yours, but I wanted to pass that information on to you. Also, I do give 30% off MSRP to TN members and I only charge actual shipping costs plus $1.00 - $2.00 for materiasl, ets.

I just wanted to pass that along to you, wasn't sure if you were aware of the premium filter or not. Should you have any questions, even if it isn't parts related or you don't buy from me, don't hesitate to contact me. I am in the forums just about everyday.

I just pull out the filter, vacuum out any leaves in the housing, and put the filter in the dishwasher. It cleans up like new and is good for another year. Why replace it? It's not worn out, just dirty.

Bill, I really don't think those filters are meant to be washed, you'd probably lose some of the filtering capabilities of the filter.

Wash your filter and compare it to a new one by holding it up to a strong light source. There is no difference is filtering ability. This is just another profit centre for the stealer.

Go to Home Depot and buy a home furnace filter. Cut it to fit the cabin filters fame and you are done. I payed $9 for a WEB filter with a built in charcoal filter. It is much thicker and filters much better than anything you can get at the stealership. I will get 4 cabin filters out of 1 of these WEB furnace filters for $9. You can keep you premium $35 filter.

Here is the instruction form the manual
