Well I guess it depends on what you mean by "sticks out"? Let me try to explain it this way, if you go to the front of your car and look at the tires, you'll see the tread, this is the tire width. Your new tire is .4" wider than the old. Now if you go to the side of the car and were to measure up from the top edge of the rim where it meets the tire, to the top of the tread, it would be 1.34" higher on the new tire than the old. I hope that's a little clearer.
So to check clearance, you could even cut a piece of foam 1.34" thick and lay it over your current tread to check clearances as described above.
The other thing to keep in mind is that since the circumference of the newer tire is bigger than your current, both the speedometer and odometer will not read correctly. Eg With the new tires on, when your speedometer reads 65 MPH, you're really doing about 70.7 MPH Not a big deal, but good to keep in mind for speed traps, etc.
