Rusty rear latch on 05 4Runner Sport?
I'm looking at buying a 2005 4Runner Sport Edition below book value. Great mileage, nice condition.
However, ONE thing struck me as strange: When I opened the rear door, I noticed that the latch (the part in the vehicle, not on the door) was very rusty. When I looked lower, the tow hitch was quite rusty too.
I found it very strange that the latch would be rusty because water doesn't usually get there (does it?)
I got down under the vehicle and there's just normal rust. Nothing in the suspension seems very rusty. Sorry, no pics.
Any insight? Is the rear door prone to leaks?
Info would be much appreciated. I will do a CarFax, but just want to cover all bases. Thanks!
