08 tire pressure sensors

Anyone have these fail and need replaced? My dash light has been on for a few weeks now, but I have checked and rechecked the tire pressure and all 4 are spot on. Anyone have some insight?

tzar177,

I think you need to do a reset of the system. There is a method in your owners manual to reset the maint. light. Do that reset and if the light does not reset then you will have to get a code reader and see what type of message it is related too.

Nope. Didn't even think about the spare. The system monitors the spare too?

I have the matching spare wheel on mine and yes it does have a sensor in it. It is worth a check.

The 4Runner, some Tundras, Tacomas, Avalons, Highlanders, and Rav4's all have sensors in the spare

Mine started acting up after a high altitude trip in CO (over 13,000') and again after some REALLY nasty wasboards in NM. In both cases the problem seemed to go away on it's own after a few days of normal use. I did not have to reset anything.
