largest tire size for 17 inch rim
I have a 03 4runner 2wd that is currently running 275/60/17's BFG Long Trails. Although these tires have been good, I have started going off road a bit more (camping, fishing, etc) and also want a more aggressive looking tire. No crazy off roading going up or down mountains and such, just normal "off the pavement" bumpy dirt roads, paths, occasional mud and such, no snow as of yet. I have been looking into the BFG A/T, Nitto Terra Grappler and Goodyear Duratrac based on the way they look. Everything is stock on my truck so I was wondering what the largest size tire I can put on is to avoid any rubbing, etc. I like the width that I have with the 275's now but dont like the small height look it has. I have alot of room in the wheel well that I would like to fill up without having to buy new rims. Would going to a 275/75/17 be too much or am I stuck with having a 265/70/17 be the biggest I can get without having issues?
