2006 4runner v8 won't accelerate
Seems like this is an issue that has been discussed before but still need guidance. Bought a 2006 4runner 6 months ago and have had a bunch of issues s.a. multiple check engine light issues, a/c broke, weak suspension etc., but this one tops em all, half the time when I accelerate at around 50km/hr nothing happens accept engine revving for 2-3 seconds before it kicks into gear.
Took it into mr. Transmission and essentially was quoted $3500 for a new transmission. Seems like a monstrous number and really cannot afford that right now...does anybody have any alternatives or know of a transmission guy around Toronto that might offer a diagnosis? Should I bother bringing it into a dealer - figured they would be the most expensive but willing to try anything?
