Need to remove Shark antenna

I don't know if anyone else has tried to carry a sheet of plywood on top of the 4Runner with a shark antenna but it won't work: the shark antenna sticks up about an inch above the rails (obviously whoever designed it never carried wood on top). Soooo... I need to remove the antenna: How do I go about it and what holes will be left?

won't the plywood just slide into the back with second row seats down?
rear door will not close all the way, but at least you can get it home without removing your "fin".
