2012 4Runner Entune Setup Problem Help

Greetings!

New here. Great looking site! I looked around for an Entune category and didn't find one, hope that this thread is acceptable to this category.

I just received a new 2012 4Runner the other day and rushed right to the computer to setup Entune to no avail. Entune's registration site states that it's not able to find my VIN#. According to Toyota, Entune just hasn't gotten around to entering my VIN# into their database. It's been three days since I brought this problem to the attention of Toyota and they don't seem to be pressing on Entune to help too quickly. Has this happened to anyone here on these forums and how long did it take for Entune to finally update their database in order to allow access?

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Update

I hope this helps another person to avoid the BS I've had to go through with this problem...

I've just been told by Toyota that Entune only comes on a 2012 4Runner IF you get the STANDARD Navigation System, 6.1" screen. If you upgrade to the 7" Nav System, you then loose Entune. The reason why I purchased a 2012 instead of a 2011 and hence spent more money, was because I thought that I was getting Entune along with the nicer 7" Nav system package, extra speakers, etc. There's no asterisk on the window sticker or product information paperwork stating what the real deal is. So, in short, if you upgrade your nav system, you'll loose Entune! My 2012 Limited doesn't have Entune like Toyota said it would. This is an interesting start in my relationship with Toyota. My first Toyota.

Good luck with buying your next Toyota with "Entune" on it. Maybe it'll have it, maybe it won't.

I too was confused by this until I played with both. I work for a Toyota dealer. Needless to say you have the better system. Enjoy your car.

Yikes, that's painfull. I wouldn't have even known that, the Camry upgraded 7 inch screen has Entune....

Can't really blame Toyota though, it 100% did not say entune on the window sticker. I suppose it's the dealers fault if they told you it has it, or your fault if you assumed.

Similar issue with the Rav-4, buy navigation and you lose JBL and Bluetooth and Sat radio. What a nightmare that's been for noob salespeople...

the 15 speaker audio system and the fact that the 7" model is made by Denso is what makes it the shining star.

Entune

So I picked up my 2012 Limited Thursday. I too was under the impression that it came with entune - one of the reasons I chose to go with the 2012. On the toyota site when you look at the options for the limited it says entune is STANDARD - and on my window sticker it states "Display Audio w/Navi & Entune:6.1" Touch Screen w/Backup Cam, AM/FM/CD, USB, Aux, 8 Spkrs, SXM w/90day Trial, Bluetooth" --- but the optional column that has the HV package listed doesnt say anthing about it. Its very deceptive and i plan on talking with my dealer MOnday and possibily giving the car back. This isnt good business and i have been a loyal toyota buyer for years.

But my car has the JBL because all the speakers have JBL and i have the sub in the back.

Yeah, the Limited uses the older (09'?) 7" Nav. Per the ENTUNE site, only the 6.1" is offered on the 12' 4Runner.
