99 parking brake problem

i have a 99 CE and i had the rear brake shoes replaced by dealer about 3 weeks ago. everything is good until 3 days ago.
set the parking brake after i parked. when i was ready to leave, can't release the parking brake! kept stepping on the pedal and it wont release (come back up). after a few try, it released.
when i got home, i looked under and there's a latch with teeth on it that swings back n forth. i lubricated the whole mechanism - it helped a bit but sometimes it still happens.

anyone have this problem with their sienna? u think the cable needs to be adjusted or just lubricate the whole mechanism again? when i looked under again last night, there is some kind of spring that's kinda hidden - i moved it around a bit and it seemed to helped.

any ideas/suggestions? thanks

I would take it back to them ASAP and tell them they need to look at it again. The adjusting levers/toothed wheels are actuated by the parking brake, this is what adjusts the rear brakes. So, if it is not working correctly, the rear brakes will not self adjust and you will get less and less braking force from the rear.
