00 Sienna - Vibration

I have a 00 Sienna and when i drive it on the highway, the front left side makes a loud sound and starts to vibrate once i hit over 140km/hr ... it goes back to normal once i go back down to ~130 or so.... does anyone know what the problem is? its been doing this since we bought it.

Well.....to fix the problem I'd start with cheap methods. Have you balanced the tires lately? You might try rotating them as well. Are you sure that the lug nuts are tight on that wheel?

I had a vibration in my jeep for the longest time and it turned out to be a bent front driveshaft.....damn rocks! It was causing my pinion to leak as well.

More information would be helpful also.

the Tires have been rotated and it the problem still persists.. it only happens at high speeds.. and when i turn the wheel slightlt it seems to stop for a while.. but as soon as i am going straight.. the vibration returns... also.. it doesn'st really vibrate too much.. it SOUNDS lik the front is vibrating and it makes a loud humming sound.

Have you had it aligned??

I have seen vehicles from the factory that needed an alignment. Follow these steps to do a quick check of the alignment:
1) mark the tires (front and rear of wheel) with chalk at a set distance off the ground and at a specific point on the sidewall (i.e. a lip or something)
2) measure the distance between the two front marks on the tires
3) measure the distance between the two rear marks on the tires

These two distance (or "toe") should be almost the same....if the marks on the front of the tires are a little less (~1/8" or less) then you should be fine. This is called "toe in" as if your tires are pigeon toed as if seen looking from the back of the tire. If the distances are greatly off, then you should get the front end aligned.

Hope this helps.
