headlights

Hi, I have a 1998 toyota sienna van. The headlights come on
brite only, if I switch the brites to off then I have no headlights. when the blue lndicter light is off then I have
all my lights it comes and goes. When the lights are on
my right blinker light works but very fast if I turn of the
lights then it works just fine. I was hoping if some one
might have an idea.

Do you have some sort of tow hitch on there? It may be wired incorrectly. It also sounds like you have a bad ground somewhere. Did you have some recent work done to it? How long has it been happening? Can your headlight problem be reproduced consistently?

I would check the wiring of the signal lights to make sure they are not frayed or severed and acting as a bad ground causing your problems.

On the turn signals (this is going to sound strange)take the bulb out of the socket and look into the socket, you will see 2 silver tabs CAREFULLY with a tooth pick pull up on each tab so that they make a better contact to the bulb.
As far as your headlite problem I bet that both bulbs are bad on the low beam side. Common problem, what happens is 1 bulb goes and sends a power serge and blows the other. Pull the bulbs out and with a test lite check and see if you have power as you go back inforth from low beams to high beams.
