Question 2002 Siennna check engine

About 2 weeks ago I put injection cleaner additive and couple of days later check engine light came on. Tighteed gas cap and a day later light disapered. 1-1/2 week later when gas tank was quarter light came on. Toped up gas and day later light disappered. Can someone advise what should I do or change. Thanks.

couldl be bad gas cap, could be a number of different things, if u need to smog and the light is off u can fail still because the ECU has a temporary abnkk where it willdouble checkk a problem before setting the CEL get a code reader and read the code, even with the CEL off the code is still stored in there

When you take the gas cap off look at where the cap screws on to the filler neck and see if there is any rust on the filler neck. If there is take some fine sand paper and remove the rust. Check the gasket on the cap also.
