The Check Engine Lights Haunts Again! - 2002 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited

Well in September, it emitted a Check Engine Light and well it was just a faulty gas cap which cost $40 CDN

And now it comes out and haunts us with the red amber lit pictograph of an engine.

What may the problem be today?

Whats for sure is that we brought our car in for service in March (Mid-March) and the engine light came on just before we went to the gas station for fuel today.

We never filled the car up with gas ever since the last service interval. So most likely, not a gas cap issue.

If we're paying a huge expense to resolve the problem, we're probably just going to move on to a brand new Toyota which would be either the Sienna or the Highlander for the most part.

So what do you think the problem is people?

A simple faulty sensor? Faulty ECM? Something more major [Though i really doubt that since only the Check Engine Light comes on]

Well lets just hope it doesn't rain or snow till next week, our Traction Control and Vehicle Skid Control is INOPERATIONAL due to the Check Engine Light.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

There is a hundred things that will turn light on, may not even be related to fuel vapor recovery system. You need to find out what fault code{s} you have.
