Timing Belt?
Hey, I'm doing this for a friend and am completely new to toyota's. I have extensive experience on Camaro Lt1's. In any case as he was driving his 2000 Sienna he said he felt something happen like a belt breaking and loss of power. Whenever you try to give it gas it shakes, etc. until the rpm's get up to about 3000. There was a squealing and smell of rubber. It threw a code and when it was checked it said cylinder 2 & 4 weren't firing or misfiring. I couldn't find anything broken so I wondered about the timing belt (150,000 and never changed). I pulled the cover part way and the top idler pulley has some black scoring on it and is making a high pitched squeal so it appears it is bad. Could this cause the misfire or should I be looking someplace else as well???
Thanks for your help!!
