Intro and Question

Hi. I found this site while trying to find a fix for a problem with the cabin air flow for our Sienna. We get good air flow to cabin vents but very little flow to our feet. Diverter seems stuck. Problem started near same time we replaced fuse for the outlet.

I don't see any fuses listed that would affect air flow diverter; saw on-line about need for proper vacuum for diverter to work (said check for loose wiring or a bad vacuum pump). I don't see any loose wires but not sure if I'm looking at all possible wires under the dash.

Any ideas where else to look before taking this to the shop? It's 1 degree fahrenheit here today, so I'd like to fix this.

thanks

Welcome to Toyota Nation!

What year Sienna have you got? I could move this thread to the Sienna forum if you like, as you'll have a better chance of getting an answer in there. Have a quick search in that particular forum too, just in case someone has experienced a similar problem in the past

Best of luck, and enjoy yourself here at TN!

Welcome. 1 degree outside, Wow. I have troulbe with the 33 we have here. Did you check that one of the vac lines might be pulled off? Good luck and hope you find the problem.

I've never had any problems with mine and we rely on the AC in the summer. I once helped someone fix their's in another type of vehicle. In that case the diverter was powered by vac and a line under the hood had been crushed. It was plastic and we cut the crushed portion out and put in a little piece of rubber hose.

When you turn the lever does it do anything? Does it change if you switch to fresh/recirculate? Can you hear anything when you turn the dial?

I've always liked the setup in our van because you can set the blend the way you want it. In the past most of the cars I've had you have to put it all the way on floors or vent.
