Gen1 Radio Y U No Work?????

<---- That's Me.

So today I was working on all of the niceties in our van.

I did some cool stuff. I vacuumed it for the first time in at least a year. I cleaned the seats with the floor cleaner. I even went and fixed the back door latch. It broke again when I showed my wife. This wasn't the big fail.

The biggest item on my getting ready for the road trip list was installing a new indash DVD. This is a little single din Power Acoustik unit I picked up. I am using it solely to run the 19" flip-down in the back.

I built a little shroud out of wood and painted it black with some left over black latex I had from another project. It sits on the floor angled slightly up. It's right in front of the vertical console thing where the radio is. When the compartment flips down it doesn't hit the shroud. The rear of the shroud is short enough that it doesn't cover the vent down there. It came out good. Cut from scrap wood and Gorilla glued together.

When hooking it up I only needed the RCA wires from the flip-down. Easy. Also, I needed to hook up the Red (power), Yellow (memory), and Black (ground) wires. Easy. or so I thought. Somehow while counting my unhatched chickens and basking in the glory yet to come I switched the power and ground. This created a short. Naturally.

I had just hooked this new deck up with the old one. When nothing turned on I knew something was wrong. I looked at the wiring and immediately identified the problem. Once it was corrected I plugged it back up and still nothing. Oh yeah, the fuse. I checked both of the radio fuses. They are both good.

I'm not getting power to the radio harness and I can't figure out why. I checked the fuses and they are good. I came inside and looked at the wiring diagram and it shows that there are only two fuses. One under the hood rated 20A and one under the dash rated 7.5A. I checked both of them with a test light and they are good. I checked all of the other fuses visually and they seem to be good.

I don't know why the wire on the harness isn't hot anymore. Does anyone have an idea what they problem could be.

I hooked up the whole deal to the cigarette lighter but I want to go back in and hook it up correctly.

Right now I have the main radio, the dvd radio, the HD adapter, and the flip-down tied into the power ports/cigarette lighter. I'm still under the fuse rating but it can't be by much. I want to run other things on that circuit too. Like my inverter for charging cell phones or the power for the GPS. My wife also powers the pizza sign with a plug in wire.

There is a junction block somewhere but my wiring diagram doesn't say where it is. I think maybe the problem could be found there but IDK.
