Help Troubleshooting noise under load
Recently began hearing repetitive noise when accelerating and engine braking.
Noise is not present when revving in park or neutral or idling.
The noise begins slowly and increases in speed and pitch with vehicle speed.
It sounds like (when accelerating from stop)
" TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUNTUNTUNTUNTUNTUN..."
It is loudest at around 50 to 60 mph and seems to be coming from engine compartment.
I have not noticed any related performance issues.
If it was a bad timing belt tensioner, wouldn't I hear it when under no load and revving the engine?
