ignition tumbler question

After searching the topic here I read about changing out the tumbler for a 2003 Sienna after lots of ignition issues with the key switch getting stuck and not starting. If I get the old tumbler out, do you have to buy one from a Toyota dealer or can you get it somewhere else, online, etc. ? Thanks for any help.

I don't think you'll find an ignition tumbler aftermarket, I could be wrong, but don't think you'll find that aftermarket. One question, did you try getting a new key cut firt to see if it was the key being the issue and not the tumbler?

Thanks Gary, I'll try that first, wouldn't it be wonderful if all issues were the cost of a key.

Make sure you get a cheap one and not the transponder, what you're looking to see here is if the key is worn.

thanks Gary

Tried a different (extra new one) key and haven't had any problems, hopefully that's the ticket. The old one was worn significantly. Thanks for the advice.
