Toyota Sienna Stalling and Not Starting after that.

Hello,

This is about a 2003 Toyota Sienna.

A couple of days ago my wife started the van to warm up.She said it stalled 2 minutes after starting and she could not start it back.

I thought it is the same problem I dealt with before: IAC valve needs cleaning.I tried cleaning but the toothbrush was clean, not black with dirt.

At first we were able to start it and it would run for a second or two and then die.But today when I tried starting it did not even start. It tried to crank but did not start.

I connected the OBDII code reader after cleaning the IAC valve.I should have done it before to make sure it is nothing related to my cleaning effort.

Anyway the codes P0100, P0101 and P0110 came up.Mass Air Flow sensor and Intake Air temperature sensor related codes.

Would these codes/malfunctions prevent the van from starting?

What could the problem be?

Those codes must have appeared because I tried cleaning the IAC valve.Because when I did another reading it could not find any codes.

We tried jumping it, but it did not start...

Sounds just what my 02 did last year but I didn't write down the codes. I changed the PCV valve since that was the cheapest and sprayed cleaner on the sensor in the intake. The PCV and gasket needed replacing but was not the problem and the sensor was ok. Turned out it needed a new idle control motor. You have to pull lots of stuff off the top of the manifold and even drain some of the antifreeze to swap out the part. It was cold and just more than I wanted to deal with. $310 part, $100 labor at the dealership.

I could still drive my Sienna but had to ride the brakes and gas it at the same time. Not too fun on snow and ice but I made it to the dealership.
Good luck.
