bolt tighening pattern for valve cover on 2000 sienna?

Hi,

Can someone tell me the bolt tightening pattern for tightening the valve cover after I replace the old valve cover gasket and install a new one?

Rod,

The 1999 Sienna Repair Manual instructs to "uniformly tighten the [8] bolts in several passes." Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (69 in·lb).

My method is to begin by tightening the bolts, using a circular pattern, to 1/4 the final torque. Then I make a second pass, tightening to 1/2, then a third pass to 3/4, then a fourth pass to the spec value, and then a final pass to recheck the bolts at the spec value.
