Canada Replacing outside mirror glass ln '98 Sienna

Hey guys,

What holds the outside mirror glass in place? It is just glued on, or does the glass actually have some kind of mounting hardware attached to it? Our driver side glass cracked due to the cold weather and the heated mirror (ironic isn't it).

What I want to know is, can I just have someone cut out a replacement glass? From what I know so far, you just need a putty knife to carefully scrape off the glass from the heating element, but that's all I know so far. Can I also get away with replacing the mirror without having the remove it? It's kind of a pain to remove the door assy when it's -25C outside!!! So is it possible to just replace the glass, and has anyone done it before?

Thanks all!
