For code P0135, which sensor I need to replace for 03 sienna

Cyroke, Thank you for response to my last message.

I have 03 sienna with 41k milage. Last week the car have check
engine warning light on. Yesterday I had Advance auto parts for
diagnosis scan(for free). They printed out the paper:
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction(Bank 1 Sensor 1)

I read a lot of posts about P0135 and confuse which sensor need
to replace. Some said is O2 sensor and some said is air/fuel sensor.

I called Toyota dealer part department, they said there 3 sensors on
on car: two air/fuel sensors and one O2 sensor and I need air/fuel
sensor. The air/fuel sensor costs $235.

Can anyone help me to pick the right sensor.

Thanks for any help

that code is for the air fuel ratio sensor b1s1 refers to the sensor in the exhaust manifold near the fire wall, tough to do on the ground and sometimes it is stripped in the manifold so while you crack it loose spray some penetrating oil on the thread portion and then work the sensor back and forth

ARODRL, Thank you for your help!

But before I read your writing, I took the car to a dealer to fix.

I did some research before I fixed the problem. I called up PEPBOY and ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. And they both didn’t have the air/fuel sensor. And I must go to the Toyota dealer. But the part cost about $235. I was hesitated to fix by myself because if I fail it will cost me about $235 for nothing. I guess to fix this problem would be fair for around $400. So I decided to let the dealer fix it. Their diagnostic was the same as mine. But it cost me $560. If I didn’t want to fix it, it will cost me $90 for nothing. So I was forced to let them fix it.

Lesson: Don’t let Toyota dealer fix your problem if you can do it youself.

By the way, it seems to me Toyota’s quality is dropping, my car is less than 3 years but the mileage is over 36k. I had a ’89 Corolla before and I did not fix it after I bought it for more than 10 years.

Im sorry to say, I am a Toyota Master tech, That dealer ripped you off. There should be 1 hour diagnoses, and 1 hour repair.
Unless there labor rate is 160 an hour, you were overcharged. Call another dealer in the area and get a quote to compare. Call back and start bitching.

air fuel sensor

I recently had my car diagnosed for air fuel sensor also. Can you tell me if it was 2 sensors you replaced for the price of 560? Or just 1 sensor plus labor ?
Thanks
