USA Navigation lockout

We bought a new 2006 Sienna Limitted last week.
I understand the safety concern, but it is very annoying that you can hardly do anything with the navigation while the car is in motion. You can play with a radio while driving so why not navigation. I would not do this as the driver, but when you are the passenger it would be nice to be able to fully use the navigation.

Is there any way to allow navigation entries while the car is in motion?

Also the voice commands seem to only be listed in the help screen. I would like a printed version. Is there any printed version of these commands listed online somewhere? It is frustrating that the only way to get familar with the navigation system is to sit in the car while idling.

procedure didn't work

It looked like this was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for and the screens looked a lot alike so I thought it was going to work. I tried to the sequence several time and I could not get the service screen to appear.

I noticed my system does not have a speaker icon for the volume screen it has more of a volume icon and instead of saying back it has a return arrow icon. I guess this means I have a different generation of Navigation. I believe it is Gen 5, but am not certain. Does anyone know of a similar procedure for newer Navigation.

Thanks.

Have you tried sequence 3 times? Maybe your Navigation DVD map is newer, v6.1.
