Here is what's going on with our family. We had an 04 Sienna LE AWD, totaled by a mini cooper a while back. We looked at 2011 for a short period of time, has been going back and forth, should or shouldn't...
At the end, we didn't really feel the "new car buying excitement" over other cars we have/had purchased before. So now we start looking at 2nd Gen once again
Went into a Toyota CPO with all the 12 months /12K warranty + 7yr/100K power tran...
Dealer wants $19K for the 2006 Sienna Limited FWD with 70k miles (1 owner, local clean carfax). It is in pretty good condition and since it's CPO, we really didn't have to worry about too much (especially they now change the 3 months/3K mile to 12 months/12K miles)
Having owned an 04 before, we feel pretty good about the car. My question is if the car still worth that much? Checked KBB and Edmunds seems reasonable. But WILL YOU BUY IT? The color is GOLD/Tan though

Reason: spelling
Question 1: How on earth did your Sienna get totaled by a Mini Cooper?!?!?
Alright....$19k is a pretty good deal. For a car like this in my area it would sell for something in the $23k range. Siennas are GOLD here. But if you think you aren't going to be satisfied by it, then don't buy it. If you don't feel the color, find something else. If I were in the market for a Sienna I'd definitely pick it up, if it were a different color. I hate that gold. But at least the 2nd gen gold looks better than the 3rd gen gold....lol

well the accident happened back in 10/2010. I washed/waxed the Sienna for the season and my wife took it to work the next day. She was stopped at the light, a lady drove a mini cooper made a right turn on the cross street (behind the Sienna) 'forgot' to stop and rear ended the van.
My wife called on the phone I was like, oh well, just a minor bumper thing but turned out the mini pushed the van forward so it hit the Accord in the front so both front and rear was damaged. I was suprised by the damaged.
checked out another 06 Limited with 54K miles but dealer (infiniti) is asking $22K.
This one is Pearl white with grey. Compares to the Gold/tan, I think the white has more potential for mod? (nothing major, just add windows visor, maybe different rims)
However, it seems the sunroof auto open/close (or one touch) seems not working properly. Has to push the button manual to open and close. Then you never sure if the roof is closed completely.
Any idea on how to reset the sunroof? anyone?
Yes, try pushing the button forward and holding it there, it should do a process of open/close/open, or something like that. I had to do that on my Camry when I got it.

tested another 2006 Limited from other non toyota dealer. Well, less miles (55K, clean carfax 1 owner local van) but no warranty asking $22K.
To me, both seems to be in good condition. My thinking is that the 1st one as CPO with more mile listed $19k, the 2nd one with less mile should also be listed at that $19K price range since it has no warranty. (the CPO part offset the less miles)
well the COP is gold/tan. On paper? No thanks but after seeing it in person, it wasn't that bad. It just happens to be a common color (we know at least 3 friends has that same color, 2 with the same trim level but that doesn't really bother me)
White/grey, sounds like a rental color but the limited actually has the white pearl that costs more to beginning with so it's not the super white. Not as common and seems to have some potental for mod.
We are more toward the white/grey, if the price is right. Otherwise we will try to get the gold/tan (unless we change our mind which happened all the time when comes to buying a car )
No matter which one, I probably will put new rims (stock size but gunmetal color )
My personal preference......
White/Grey, if the price is right. I love that Blizzard Pearl and it doesn't look so "Hi I'm 80 years old and gold is the perfect color for me", lol.
All else fails, get the gold. You could always do some contrasting color combos to dress it up...like a pinstripe if you like them. Different rims, like you suggested. Gold doesn't look too bad with tint, either!

I double checked edmunds.com TMV and made a good offer. The dealer still want a deep profit out of that 06 (the white/grey with 55K miles). I just walked out and no hard feeling. So we went to other dealer to pick up the other ride.
In the end, we are pretty happy with the outcome and probably in a year or two we will look into the NEW Sienna
