my Sienna got rear ended

alright, so i got in an accident about a month ago in my sienna, textbook rear-ending...the guy just wasnt paying attention. thankfully the other guy was insured also so i claimed to his insurance and they accepted full responsibility. the oter guy was in a mazda 3 so there wasnt too much visible damage.

now i plan to go to the local collision center to get my sienna fixed. it is a 2005 CE, i am just not sure what i need to make sure that the ppl look at. the bumper is popping out at the sides...i think the clips are broken so they will have to replace the whole thing i assume. now idk what else i should have them check. something behind the bumper has bent so the trunk is very difficult to open and close. i also think that my alignment is off.

is there anything that i should tell them to make sure they look at when i drop it off?? thanks for all you help.

ill post pics in a few minutes.

bumper gaps are larger

clips to hold on bumper are broken

plastic inside trunk has popped up

skid marks on latching mechanism and hook thing

trunk and body no longer sit flush

indentations that the other guys licence plate

on second thought i dont think that they will need to replace the bumper, just the part that has the clips that the bumper latches into.

wasn't look too bad. Mine was rear-ended and end up totaled.

Do check both side doors and make sure they are aligned. Mine had big gaps. A good body shop will able to remove the carpet to exam the damage from the trunk.

Good luck

Welcome HOME
3K isn't bad at all. Most body shop will give you warranty on the job for as long as you own the car so if anything happen to the paint, you can always bring it back.

yeah, toyota gave me a lifetime warranty on all the parts and paint. overall i am very pleased with the process although it would have been better to avoid it altogether
