2008 transmission issue

My 2008 Sienna, with 65,000 miles, has an odd issue with the transmission at low speeds. When I decelerate and get down to below roughly 15 mph and then press the accelerator pedal, the transmission does not engage. There is a second or two lag. This only occurs at this low speed. Any idea what may be causing this. I plan on getting a tranny flush and filter. Would this help or is there another known issue causing this?

I believe you have discribed normal vehicle function even though it feels kind of abnormal.

My 08 LE with 69K miles does exactly the same thing. It gets confused from time to time between 1st and 2nd gear, usually happens between 5 - 15 mph.

And before I bought my van, I have read several threads here with the same expreience. And a couple of owner has taken the van to the dealer only be told there was nothing wrong.

My 2005 is similar (always has been) but I only really notice it when making right turns that have to be real slow like curb turn to narrow right lane.

My 2004 does this. There is a TSB for this very common problem. It is annoying but i can live with it as long as the transmission doesnt go out.
