Introduction - New 2006 Sienna Owner

Hi everyone. I figured I'd post here first because I'm sure this is where I will be spending my toyota nation forum time.

I just bought a 2006 Sienna XLE Limited AWD with Option 2. It's so new to us that my wife still hasn't seen it.

107,700 miles. This is the first car we have purchased from a dealer. I prefer private party transactions, mostly because I think I can get a better deal, but we had some difficulty finding what we wanted. Plus, the price was really good for a dealer. $15,288 and the dealer is to put in a new timing belt and water pump. The dealer is also to address the rear hatch strut recall issue.

Looking forward to maintaining it with advice from the Forum.

good buy. Despite all those recall or problem some owners have/had, you really can't go wrong with the Sienna.

Limited give you HID, memoery seat, power folding mirror, tell me which other car will give you all those feature for less? Even the NEW highlander Limited does have those (yes, for all SUV owner swho refuse to drive minivan, they don't know what they are missing )

I don't know what car you drove before but can sure you will like the Sienna for years to come. I used to have a 04 AWD, watch out for the tires. 1st you should check and see if the tires are Run Flat (supposed to) they worn out fast and they are $$$. After 2 set of Run Flat, I went with regular tires and I carry fix a ties and air pump. Remember there is no spare tire on AWD.

Thanks. The dealer replaced the tires with four new run-flats. I will probably not use run-flats in the future, but it will be interesting to see what the ride is like and how they wear. My wife drives about 7K per year, and is coming from a 99 Volvo XC70. We have two kids under five, which is the primary reason for the minivan.

I expect the NEW run flat will last you about ~25K-35K miles.
Your kids will love the van. They can 'walk' around inside, move around from seat to seat...
