2004 Sienna driver side sliding door won't open wider than a few inches

Hello everyone,

My 2004 Sienna LE AWD W/74k miles is now refusing to let me in the driver's side sliding door. The door opens a few inches then hits a mechanical stop, like it does when the fuel filler door is open, but the fuel door is not open. I have tried opening and closing the fuel filler door and tried repeatedly to open the slider but no dice. Before I take it to my local (awful) dealer, does anyone have any experience with this problem? Thanks so much.

Mark

problem solved

The little button inside the fuel filler door that "tells" the slider that it is okay to open needed a few firm pushes to release slider.
