I have an opportunity to purchase an 2006 Sienna XLE Limited (FWD version) with low fairly low km's for it's age (around 70k).
I've read various issues with the 2006 Siennas mainly the run flat tires, which is only for the AWD versions.
The price for this van is pretty good, but could be passed up. We are not in a huge rush, but the van is in very clean and looks great. What I am concerned with is if 2006 Siennas are notorious lemons and buyer beware.
Any thoughts/input? It would be purchased from a dealership but no maintenance history, only CarProof report.

You will like this van. Consumer Report ranks this model year as very good with respect to lack of deficiencies. These results are tabulated from subscriber survey responses. Joe
I was in the same boat a few months ago. Set my eyes on a 2006 Limited (not NAV, no DVD) 54K miles, 1 owner. Great van. I passed not because anything wrong with the van (we had 04 AWD before so we know how the van drive). Just didn't get to the price I wanted.
Remember a few months ago, due to the event in Japan, dealer played as new car shortage and used cars in demand...Anyway, if the price was right, I would have gotten the van. If you get a good deal, go for it.
The 3.3 is a smoother engine because it has a timing belt. The 3.5 uses a chain that has the benefit of not needing to be changed.
Is this a pretty big reason to try to find an 07 or newer? I'm in the market for something around the age of an 06 or an 07. Any other differences between these two engines to consider? Obviously the 3.5 has more HP. I've heard fuel economy is similar between the two?
Well we decided to purchase the van, the van was in immaculate condition, one owner and dealer serviced. Price was not a steal, but very reasonable considering it's age and low kms.
On the drive home I felt I could have used a little more power when passing on the highway, but otherwise it was a very smooth ride, the van was a pleasure to drive.
