trouble reinstalling 2nd row seat

I've got an '06 8-seater. I removed all of the 2nd-row seats to haul some things. When I was finished, I wanted to reinstall the seats. The left and center seats went in just fine. However, the right one didn't. As I attempted to get it in, I noticed that the latch on the front right seems to catch slightly and move with the seat as I tilt it back, so it's 1) no longer latched and 2) not aligned properly to get the rear latches in place. I've lubricated the pieces and tried tightening all screws and nuts that looked like they might affect the behavior of the joints, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas on how to get the seat back in properly? I appreciate the help.

I have struggled with these center seats in the past. I found that before you take the seats out, slide them all the way to the rear. Or, once they are out, pull up on the seat lever and push the seat all the way back. This allows the "dogs" to catch better on re-install. Good luck. Joe

Thanks for the advice, Joe. I think I'm confused, though. Do your seats slide backwards and forwards? On our '06, the 2nd row seats do not slide. We can only recline the seats, and I don't believe you can recline them and get them out -- or put them in -- at the same time. Please, correct me if I'm wrong and need to do something else that I'm not seeing as obvious. Thanks again.

My '04 is a 7 seater & the two second row seats slide foreward & back. Joe
