2008 Sienna Limited. Anyone know how to replace the lamp in the passenger side mirror?

I haven't taken off a mirror yet, but I found this view:

http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/sh...&searchString=

This Toyota dealer doesn't have the best prices, but their parts diagrams are pretty handy (they helped me in replacing the melting liftgate switch).

It looks like there's just the triangular trim piece above the interior door trim panel that's held on with one retainer, and behind that the six nuts and the harness connector. I haven't found an exploded view of the mirror itself.

Have you looked at the bottom of the mirror, to see if there is a screw down there? The part diagram seems to imply that the puddle lamp simply comes out the bottom. The lamp (p/n 81880-AE010) isn't cheap; the Village Toyota price is $39.62, and 1sttoyotaparts.com's price is $35.68.

Mirror exploded view

Steve,

Thanks. The drawings are good. Definitely going to bookmark theses guys. I have floated the mirror off but still can't figure out how to pull the guts out. Maybe I'll just buy a new one for $570.<grin>

Mike

Take a look ad Kool Vue mirrors. I got the whole side mirror (passenger) with heating for $50 shipped. this is the same mirror you'd get if you were in an accident and the insuranced repair place fixed the vehicle. Lots of good reviews at amazon and other. I got mine from http://www.discountautomirrors.com/

It looks like the only Sienna mirrors they carry are black ones, for the CE and LE, with or without heated glass.

Directional lamp in mirror

Actually, what I'm looking to replace is the directional arrow in the mirror itself.

for that kind of stuff I go through Gary Smith at toyota of Newnan.

He's got good prices and shipping rates are actual rate and not the usual 10% other sites charge.

I've had good luck with him on everyhting from body parts to filters and consumables.
