2005 Sienna 17" Alloy Wheels

I have a 2005 toyota sienna XLE with 17" alloy rims. Would i get a better riding van and better gas mileage with 16" rims??? Also, what are some of the best tires to put on a sienna for lasting performance?

If you have runflats because it is a AWD. you will get a rough ride. The rinflats have a stiff sidewall to support the weight of the vehicle when the air is let out. Thats way they don't have to give you a spare.

Also check your pressure and make sure they are at the correct inflation. If its vibration at highway speeds, it could be that your tires are simply out of balance.

If all tha checks out and you have a spare and non-runflats tires I recommend looking at these tires. (I like the customer reviews on TireRack.com)

Michelin Harmany (or Destiny at discount ture/America tires)
Goodyear Comforttred
Hancook Optimo H272

All of these have gotten good reviews from Sienna owners. I own the H272s in 16" version and like them a lot. low noise, good ride and traction in rain. Lowest cost, 100K tread warranty, free road hazard warranty. All of that was too much to resist for a cheapie like me.

If you want to spend the big bucks look at Goodyear trippletred or Miclelin Hydrotred.

I have an '05 XLE AWD with 17 inch wheels and over 100,000 miles (no spare). I just had four new Michelen HydroEdge tires installed. I've had these on my last three vehicles (two of them Sienna's) and routinely get over 70,000 miles out of them before replacing. I've tried Bridgestones and Goodyear tires and could only 30-35,000 miles before replacing them. I think the Michelens are great tires and worth the $160.00 each. Incidentally, I've never had a flat tire on any of these vehicles.
