2004 Sienna rehab
I have a 2004 Sienna XLE Limited that has 140K miles on it. I'm working on the exterior and interior to fix all the dings. In the process I have come across some real humdingers of obstacles.
Discovered that Toyota doesn't make interior (grey stone/dark grey stone) touch-up paint. Also, that the discovery of the paint codes beyond the simple names is beyond my local dealer's parts department's capacity. Apparently, Martin Senour paints must be used, because the DuPont mix doesn't yield the right match. But, the NAPA dealer wants to know the paint codes...and the driver side interior door panel's label (LB 12) isn't a valid code according to them.
The interior plastic door sill panels and second row passenger seat retainers get dinged regularly from installing and removing the bucket seats. Toyota parts wants ~ $170 for each sill panel. Wow.
And, having subjected my Fujitsu nav head unit to sprays of irrigation system water, I discovered that remanufactured and new head units are no longer available (even at $3200 new). So, I've put in a new Pioneer nav unit and now have a non functional rear seat video display unit. And, the dash board has three small (2.5 inch) speakers with 3.5 inch bolt holes that are JBL OEM, and replacing those appears to be a new puzzlement.
Anyway, I love my car, and want to fix it up. So, if you have ideas as to how I might solve my problems, please let me know.
