'05 Sienna Front Vibration May Need Brake Caliper Replacement
I bought an '05 Sienna XLE AWD with 86K miles and after about a month noticed a shaking in the steering wheel. It came and went (not present at all speeds). Finally took it to the local dealership and paid them $50 diagnostic fee to tell me the driver's side front brake caliper was not releasing. They wanted over $400 parts and labor to replace both calipers. I went to a local parts store, bought two replacement calipers for $130 and changed them myself in about an hour. Also replaced the pads as one side was worn slightly more than the other. Pads were about $60 with lifetime warranty.
If you have intermittent vibration from the front end, may want to check the calipers to see if the pistons are fully retracting.
