Exhaust Leak?

When my AC is on I smell exhaust in the cabin, it is faint, but others can also smell it. If I put the system on recirculate the smell disappears. What would be the best thing to do in this case to diagnose the problem. My car is a 04 Sienna LE.

The gasket on the down pipe is shaped like a doughnut. They deteriorate over time. I'd have that replaced and a complete exhaust inspection, esp the welds at next service or sooner.
This is nothing to be taken lightly.
