Just purchased 2008 CE - Rack and Pinion Leak
I just purchased a 2008 CE in great condition, drove it home yesterday. It was regularly serviced at the dealer. The vehicle has 80,000 miles.
The seller gave me all the receipts and let me know that the dealership recently advised a repair labeled "Rack and Pinion Leak at Right Boot $1,098".
- Is this a common repair?
- Is it upselling by the dealer?
- Is this a repair one can do at home?
In Modesto, we have a repair shop specializing in Toyotas and competes with dealer and I will check with them, they often save me a lot of money. Anyway, I got a great deal and even if I need to spend the full amount, I am happy I saved a ton of money over a new one. I would any insight in this matter and welcome me as an official member of the Sienna forum.
BTW, I occasionally posted on the Corolla forum, my Corolla has 364,000 miles and still running strong.
