My Intorduction and my 2004 Sienna Belts

Hi everyone.
My name is Stuart and I live in Aurora, CO. We own a 2004 Sienna and love it. Recently we have started hearing a screeching sound from the engine. I know it is a belt, however do not know which one.

My questions are
1. How many belts are there in the Sienna?
2. How can you tell which belt is bad?
3. Since I am a DIYer, can you change the belts yourself?

Thanks

i believe there are 2, a quick look under the hood should be able to tell you.
and a squeaky belt doesnt necessarily mean its bad, it just may need tightened.

im not exactly sure where the tensioner is on that vehicle, but sometimes theyre pretty hard to get to.

Stuart, welcome to the Nation. If you're hearing squeaking, it's probably from the tensioner rather than the belt themselves. Belts need to be changed out when you see cracking on the ribbed side of the belt or when you start to see some unusual wear on the belt itself. I'll move your thread over to the Sienna forum where you'll get more help from out members.
