Canada Front Suspension Questions!

Hello Toyota Nation.

I am new to the world of modern Toyota. The last one I owned was a '90 pick up and I loved it.

I am going to attempt front suspension on a 2005 Sienna and have a few questions. I have done suspension installs on plenty of VW's but never on a Toyota.

-are they any special tools required?
-what parts should I replace?
-how long does this project take?

thanks for the help!

matt

it depends...
do you want to replace only the strut or the whole assembly (like quickstrut)?

I was planning on just replacing the strut inside the existing spring. i have spring compressors so that portion isn't an issue.

thanks!

The struts are pretty easy to replace. What I usually do is mark the strut mount and insulator and spring with tire chalk to make reassembly quick and painless. If the Sienna has high mileage than I would replace the strut mounts also, and since the swaybar end links had to be removed from the struts; you may want to replace them at the same time if there are any signs of play in the joint.
