Front Cup Holder Stuck (help)

My front (dash) cup holder is stuck.
Is there another way to get it open?

A cell phone charger was placed inside and was shut and now it wont open.

Does anyone have a picture of the location of the lock or magnet? so I know where to try and pry it open?

Mine has stuck closed a time or two but has gone back to working now. I found I could get a finger in the crack or maybe a screw driver blade and give that front a pry after pushing in to start the release mode and it came open without breaking anything. Good luck.

disclaimer: this worked for me, don't blame me if something broke

hit it hard (not tooo hard) and fast with a closed fist (pinky side) and it should open it. Worked for me when I had some stick in there a while ago.

Thanks for your help.

I was able to get it open after I tried it from the passenger side and pushed towards the driver side and it opened.

It looked like the cord was stuck on the top of the cup holder. It was the wifey who got it stuck and I got on her case about it too.
I told her with all the compartments in the van she had to use the cup holder for it.

(yes, blame the wife) hahahaha

Related problem. She pried it open, and a plastic pin 3/4" long broke off and fell out. Now it will not lock closed. How do I remove the cupholder to repair or replace it?
