A little souvenir from the arbor day festivities in long island.
I was like FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU... then I realized my little ones and other little ones were within earshot so I went FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!
But after I wiped off the dirt and stuff, it didn't look too bad. Big Goldfish got her first boo boo!

Reason: Spelling
We got one this weekend as well. Apparently the wind caught someone's door and jerked it into our passenger door. Took a bunch of paint off their car and put a ding about mid door and in the upper crease. Looked horrible at first, thought the entire door was dented. But once I cleaned off their paint it wasn't that bad. Best part...they left a note with their contact info. Bodyshop wants to repaint the entire door...$500. I said no way simply because I don't want a repainted door over something like this. Found a dent specialist and he said he can get it 90% for $100. Good enough. Stuff happens...sux that it's barely a month old!!

@Tan: After I wiped off the dirt and the other guy's paint/detritus, the boo boo didn't look too bad. The clearcoat and paint got rubbed off the wheel well crease and there's a deep scrape where the bumper's natural color shows through. I'll probably pay my cousin a visiti and see if they have some touch up paint.
@Sean: The other guy caused it. I was parked all day in the parking lot and when we came back from a whole day's fun, there it was.
@Skinny: Yep, BGF is barely three months old and she got her first boo boo. You got lucky they left a note with info. Me? Not so much. Not even a "sorry" note. But that's okay, I'm sure there will be more scuffs and scrapes down the line. The wheel well crease was pushed out a little bit but some pressure and patience alighned everything back into place.

When I park in public places, I park away from cars that look like shit. I tend to look for expensive Benz, Bimmers, etc. and park next to them. If they hit me, well their repair will cost more so I hope they think twice before doing anything stupid.
mine got its first booboo after 3 days of ownership. I was going down a ramp and the chin kissed the pavement. It created a 5x4in gash and was a little deep. Luckily, it was well hidden under bumper and is barely visible when standing beside it.
Is it just me, it seems like the the front bumper is unusually low. Somehow verified this by by looking at the side profile of the car.
It's very low. The front drags in a lot of places our Ody didn't...and it was too low for my taste. This one drags on normal parking stops.
I ordered the side mouldings and they arrived today. Hopefully that will help in the future. I may post a pic once I get them installed as I haven't seen them on any '11 Sienna's yet. I went with the painted w/chrome strip. We're supposed to get the door-dings fixed tomorrow but leaving on a trip Friday so not sure when I'll get them installed.

True but often time, you can see more Benz and Bimmers at our local WalMart.
I guess one thing about NEW car is you try to be careful (at least at the beginning) but the other guys just don't care. We even try to park away from the crowd and still some idiots just like to park next to you
Yeah, that's my case too. I try to park away from anyone but this time, the lot sheperds guded me to that spot. It was in a sorta affluent part of Long Island too. Oh well. And don't get me started on valet parking!

I guess I am included in this list as well. There was a metal bar about the size of the Sienna Lower Body Mold (the chrome part) laying on the freeway that the car in front of me hit it and it was pouncing on the pavement. Traveled at 75mph I can't just swirl the lane to avoid it. Took a hit right on the front bumper little to the right frog like. I was heart broken as the van was only a week new and 4th time on the road. I didn't want to stop to check for damage till I got home.
The damage wasn't that bad. The impact popped a few fasteners that hold the under-body carriage/cover. I just wash the damage area, clay bar, and a wax and it all look like nothing has happened.

Usually I try to park in between 2 expensive cars. Never try to park alone.
I did witness a guy on a truck (dodge ram) ran right into the brand new bimmer 540 on the parking lot. The bimmer parked under a tree (shade) a lone by itself and this guys just T-bone on the front passenger door. I think this guys either suffer a minor stroke or drunk (less likely as it was around 11 in the morning). We flagged mall security who call Paramedic (ambulance came over when we left.)
That's the downside of parking away from everyone...the numbnuts that weave through the cars or fly through the parking lot. Watched a teen in a Mustang get lose and side-swipe a really nice truck parked out by its lonesome one time. Don't go shopping....that's the best solution!

Yeah, I never park my van alone. Many just don't have respect for other people's property. I try to park next to expensive cars and I always give them enough room to open their doors without touching mine.
In my area, there are a lot of women (I suspect have rich husbands) who drive all kinds of luxury cars who could care less how many dings it has. Biggoldfish knows what I'm talking about. For example, there are Korean women, who I'm sure have husbands who own businesses, driving Porsche Cayennes or S550's or 750i's but don't know how to park nose-out in H-Mart but they try to anyway. Lol. I have had so many near heart attacks when I see them come close to my van. And I especially hate large parking lots where people push their carts away from them (and towards your car) once they're done loading up.
