removing hood & hatch Toyota emblem

Anyone remove their hood or hatch emblem? I am thinking about removing mine and painting them black. If anyone has done this, are there any tricks to doing so and what did you put on them to keep them on when finished?

Thanks!

done and done......apply goo gone for about 5 minutes then just pop it of with a plastic panel popper......
after its off, remove rest of 2way tape using goo gone. once painted, put 3m 2way tape on on the back so you can put it back on.

You might be able to use the 3M double sided auto tape. It's gray in color and has a red backing.

Popp,

Thanks for the help! I am really thinking about the Plastidip method. I am just a little worried that I wouldn't be able to peal the plastic off the paint like they said you can. Actually, I would be more worried about getting the plasticdip off of the clear bra around the front emblem. Oh well, I guess that is why you would have to mask the vehicle really well...

It looks like I'll be painting mine all white.
