Am I the only one??

Ok,

So I have a new to me 2011 Sienna LE..

It came with the Non-Nav radio / backup cam configuration.

I'd like to add the NAVI radio to this van.. (assuming i can find one for less then the $4500 Toyota wants)

Would I just be able to "plug-in" the new radio?? Or will this just not work??

I assume the harness connections are the same.. But I just don't know.

Anything is possible with the right amount of coin. I personally have no idea if it will just plug in, but you obviously have to get the antenna installed as well and I doubt the wiring is in place for that. I notice crutchfield has different installation options depending if you have base, upgraded stereo, or NAV...which tells me something is different in the wiring.

There are aftermarkets in the $1,000-$2,000 range that will look stock and likely be far better at navigating. The OEM navigation is mediocre at best and I can't imagine spending more than the $1,500 they charge on these from the factory.

aftermarket > oem

you can have a better sounding system with nav, backup cam, dvd playback for the kids for half the cost of a factory nav headunit.

There's some threads about this, a few of us have aftermarket systems. I didn't do mine on my own, though I've done other vehicles and it's not terribly difficult. You typically need an adapter/harness to connect to the steering wheel controls. When I had mine installed, there wasn't an adapter to have all the controls work, I don't know if there is one now. But my volume and tuner buttons work, so I'm pretty content.

I got the Pioneer Avic-Z120BT, there's others thar are comparable, they all have pros and cons, but they're almost all both better and cheaper than OEM.
