Wire Harness for Towing

I called local dealer and the list price was $200 for wire harness. So right away I went looking for aftermarket. I just want to know the part number for a aftermarket so I know I'm ordering the right one, and is it plug and play?

I can get you an OEM one for $150.00 and it is a genuine Toyota Part and I am an authorized Toyota Dealer. I can also get one from my private distributorship for $70.00.

So in the tow package Siennas, all we need is the wiring harness? No other things to get? And does it really entail taking off the whole rear end to install it?

I'm wondering how this worked out since I am looking to do the same thing here soon.

I ended up buying a Curt Manufacturing 56106 T-Connector
Amazon Amazon

It was easy to wire. I only had to remove both tail lights, and that panel inside the hatch to run wire across most time consuming part was running wire through the firewall to reach the battery. Went to U-Haul next day and picked up the trailer and lights worked perfect.

Had mine wired yesterday

I gave up the DIY thing a while ago -- now I'm more PIY (Pay-It-Yourself). Found a local trailer place (http://www.restlesswheelsrvs.com/Default.aspx) and they did it. Installed the Curt hitch I bought from Amazon plus the wiring harness the dealer likes -- figured since the harness was the trickier part, letting them do what they were familiar with made sense. The wiring is connected inside the jack compartment, with the harness threaded under the bottom edge (next to the carpet). When not in use, there's enough room to thread it back under that edge, so it will be invisible. Looking forward to towing a U-Haul next weekend!
