Canada HID for DRL and High beam

Hi all,

I finally had a chance to install my HIDs for the DRL over the weekend. Things didn't go as smooth as I hoped though.
Questions:
1) Both DRL and high beam shares the same bulbs, right?
2) After installing the bulbs without a relay, I blew the fuses on the high beams. Got replacements from dealership, re-installed again with relay, and got the high beams working. But now the DRL doesn't turn on. I checked the fuse for the DRL and it seems intact. Am I doing anything wrong?
3) How do you replace a fuse for DRL? The Sienna fuse box comes with a little fuse removal tool but is only good for "Type A" (e.g. high beam) fuses. The other fuses are bigger and boxy, and most of them have a clear plastic cover on top so you can tell if the fuse is broken from just looking in. However, even the user manual says "Contact Dealer" if one needs to replace one of these fuses. I'm just wondering if any of you has experience replacing these yourself. If so, how?

I just want to make the DRL working before proceeding with the installation of the HID fogs ...

Thank you for your feedback in advance.

IIRC you can't have HIDs in your DRLs because the DRLs operate at 50% of the highbeams, the HIDs don't have enough power to light up, thus they don't work.

Agree with humanoid. The DRLs are only operating at 50% capacity, that's why they are dimmer than when you put the highs on. Even though you have a relay switch connected up to the DRL/hig beam plug, there's just too little power going through the relay to turn on the DRLs. Even if it did, the DRLs will look like regular HIDs cause HIDs DO NOT work on half power. 100% or nothing. Switch back to regular bulbs or if you want, you can use Hellas. They're the brightest, I believe. I have Sylvania SilverStars on my DRL/highs.

V leds carries this kit for the drl hid:

I find it impractical since you can barely see hid in the day time.
