Where to put subwoofer? What size?

Hi TN,

I recently bought a 2011 Toyota Sienna base model 4cyl. I am looking to upgrade my sounds system with a few Alpine bits and pieces, including head unit. My question is where to mount a subwoofer and what size? I dont want to lose the ability to fold down the rear seats and mounting a sub encloser between the driver and passenger seat seams a little odd even if the carpet is color matched. Idea's?

Thanks,

i'm also working on my audio upgrade for my SE. i think i've decided on the speakers for the front and rear. as for the sub, i plan on getting this or the similar unit from RF and placing it under the 3rd row seating. it can easily be removed if need be.

Hey that's a great place. I'll have to measure the height and width under the third row. This way I see what options I can play with. The link you posted above to the JL Audio enclosure measures 5" high. And the sub box looked user friendly enough so that if I had to disconnect and lower the 3rd row, it wouldn't be a large and heavy task.

Thanks!

np... here's a couple more choices..

pioneer is more budget friendly but still sounds great. i've heard it in someone's minivan. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130SWX2...rand%7cPioneer

here's RF's version..

Was wondering, can I connect any of these subs to my stock Sienna XLE JBL 10spkr system without an amp? Just plainly move the wiring from the stock sub to the box?

it's possible but not sure how great it will sound. check the specs on the stock amp power going to the JBL sub to give you an idea..
